This collection began as a concept imagining well loved pandas on a tropical vacation. We started with countless sketches… pandas sipping bubble tea, donning batik caps, and playing dress-up in kebayas, even our Jia Jia, Kai Kai and Lele appreciating the MBS skyline. Over a year of dreaming, designing, and handcrafting later, these tropical pandas have come to life as playful ambassadors of Nanyang culture.

We pored over Qing dynasty porcelains.
We replaced peonies with orchids.
Introduced new blooms, tropical and wild.
And designed our first-ever batik prints — featuring pandas as playful cultural ambassadors of Nanyang style.
Crafted from hanbok silks, batiks, cottons, laces, airy sports mesh, and memory, the SG60 Collection: From Porcelains to Pandas in the Tropics is our dreamscape of tradition, joyfully reimagined for a new generation.
What is Falangcai?
Falangcai (珐琅彩), or “foreign enamels,” is a rare genre of Qing dynasty porcelain, hand-painted in the inner courts of the Forbidden City. These pieces fused Chinese brushwork with Western enamel techniques and were made for the Emperor’s eyes only — exquisite treasures where East met West in brilliant colour.

Every panda has a story, and it begins with a sketch, onto a fabric, made into toiles and finally the finished pieces.
From batiks to airy mesh, printed lace to layered textures,
this is how our tropical pandas came to life meticulously.
Not just drawn, but stitched, dyed, pressed, and sewn into every fold.
