1929 Shanghai was known as "The Paris of the East". It was the brink of Depression but this did not stop Shanghainese women from looking modern, elegant and stylish. Heavily influenced by the French and Europeans, the Shanghai women indulge in fashionable leisure like dancing, swimming, movies and golf. Fast forward to 2009, how will these Shanghai women look like?
For this collection you can find trendy zipper details as piping on lush silk brocade, cashmere wool and tweed juxtaposed with exquisite lace fabrics, puffed sleeves with slender cheongsam silhouettes. The colours chosen are shades of greys and midnight black on sensual nude with a clever splash of rose pinks and reds when least expected.
